Hey Eben,
I was at Altitude and it was one of the best events I've ever attended.
I have to say I'm excited about what you're putting together here.
I know if people follow your steps they will see unbelieveble success.
You coined the phrase "move the free line" and it's taking over the industry in 2008 and beyond.
And we all have you to thank for that - both as marketers and as customers.
Thanks for all you do.

I'd like to learn the following 3 things:
(1) What are the secrets to creating "instant / viral" hype for my products / services?
(2) If I'm a "newbie" with no internet presence, what is the best way to research whether my idea for a product and/or service is wanted / without too much competition?
(3) Is it better to use a blog or website to publicize my products and/or services? How can I use both with maximum effectiveness?
(4) Is it better to focus on 1 idea at a time or "dabble" in many ideas to see which one has the most appeal / feedback / potential (ie testing)?

Hi Eben, what a wonderful idea! My why to apply is: funds enough above living expenditures to be a blessing to others, specifically...the wrongly convicted persons...roughly 10% of all USA inmate population are innocent individuals who for a variety of reasons, have been convicted of crimes they did not commit.
I would like to learn (1)how to create an info product from private label products, and launch without a list or any JV partners (2)how to drive traffic to a website, (3)how to upsell additional products.
I am ready to succeed...but don't know where or how to begin....you as a mentor and others as a mastermind group would be a God's Send....please make it affordable for everyone, or as Donkey said in the Shrek Movies...pick me, pick me, pick me for the scholarship.
I wish you much continued success,

(2) The most effective way to move from providing great free content to presenting a product for purchase.
(3) How to determine price points.
I look forward to the next few weeks.

I have been watching you and mass control and Mark Hoverson and Tim Ferris. My business is very much in the physical, I can't massage you virtually, so I am trying to put all of this info, to draw more customers in and maybe have a product and service for other massage therapists. Maybe a mentoring program that I could make money from for my industry. In essence, how do I take all this info for an internet business and use it in the real world? Thanks in advance!!

If there was one thing that I wanted to know the most about it would be information about those first initial steps to getting a good start, without having an already existing business/website.
Another thing I would really like to know more about are the important legalities of writing/publishing your own informational product. Copyrights, disclaimers, and protecting yourself from potential law suits.
And finally, do you have any tips about building a local mastermind and finding real people who would be interested in this sort of thing?
Posted by: Evan | February 29, 2008 12:49 AM
Cool stuff, Eben.
One thing that came to mind immediately that I'd like to learn about --
1. I hear of people using Google Adwords to "survey" the masses and find out what sorts of products they'd like to see. How exactly is this done when you DON'T even have a product? How can you advertise something that doesn't exist?

The single most important thing you could do is provide information that is as straightforward and sincere as your video appears. Please provide help without hype. Be the one who does what he says he will do -- provide value -- without it becoming just another long winded sales letter. I know there is a product for sale. I don't expect you to give it ALL away. But you made the offer. And I love the mastermind concept. The whole is greater than its parts.

Hi Eben,
After reflecting on on your request for me to brainstorm what i would like to see you speak to on the upcoming webinar, I came up with:
1) Other than posting all over yahoo groups and other social networking sites what are super effective ways of reaching a mass of people to share my work with?
2) Id like to hear your experiences and tips around how to connect with an attitude of confidence and self-assurance within your inexperience when reaching out to potential mentors, interviewees, or all help in general (mastermind creation)
3) Im intrigued by your content copy on the information based websites you make. What are the principles behind emphasising in RED font colours, or underlines, bullets etc
Thanks again for staying focused and presenting a wholly valuable synthesis information and experience.

Hi Eban,
How can I join your affiliate program?
Posted by: mark | February 29, 2008 12:52 AM
Ok, first of all sorry for my bad english and great video, you use with mastery all the communication and marketing techniques that you teach :-)
I work in a tight market, non english speaking and with few or no Internet tradition in ecommerce, but, I'm not doing bad selling information in digital format focused in little entrepreneurs and small business (in fact I'm doing better than many others) but my main question is how I can position myself as THE authority and respected figure in my market so the people really desire what I'm doing, so I attract customers instead chasing them.
I'm a small player working with small players, I recently made the question to my customers about what is their main problem or desire is.
90% answered "more customers" or "more income" (not very original, I know) the rest directly accused the economic situation or other external causes and wanted that those excuses magically disappear, then (they thought) their business would go well...
So, I think I need one really big "breakthrough" to make enough noise in order to catch the attention of bigger players, that turn towards me and say "hey, that's good", but, although I'm praised for what i give I can not reach those bigger players, in this marketing very few "serious" businesses look for advice in Internet, they tend to go to seminars or hire consultants (my old job).
I explain myself really bad, but I think you can see the essence, I don't play in english speaking market but, with all the constraints, I see it as an opportunity to reach a top position that no one occupies, I'd like to know how to become the reference of my market from my present position as small solopreneur that "is not doing bad".
Best regards

Hey Eben,
I'd like to know how to create an information product that gives the appearance of the "magic bullet" - without actually being the magic bullet.
My customers want a hands-free money-making system. The less work the better. When I can deliver that or close, the money pours in. It's truly like magic. The challenge is: Most "You Do No Work" programs simply fail to perform. They pull in cash, but they give no positive returns to the customer.
However, when I work to give my clients the best information and systems they can follow to make money, they turn their noses up - and go find someone willing to sell them the magic "no-work millions" dream.
I'd love to know how to you hit the hot button of automatic, no-work, instant results - without doing all of the work.
If you can answer that, I'd be forever grateful. :0)
Sincerely,
Jeff

Eben,
I am inspired listening/watching the video.. I don't have customers to go ask.
Regarding mastermind(i am very excited you are even offering this, as i have really felt the need for this lately, and wasn't sure where to turn... also i can see that you must have done the very thing you ask your audience to do, or you wouldn't have known to start the "mastermind project", so right off i have a trust building for you :)
Also, i find your video very engaging, partly i think because you are very focused as you speak, engage and include the listener, and stay on topic.
Regarding your question as to you should include, i'm such a beginer that i think i need to learn to develop & create a good foundation, on which to build my business. Also, it should be very easy, step by step, and a structure where i could really get my questions answered and problems resolved quickly, as well as start seeing $$$come in
before i get discouraged, pooped and lost.
I want to duplicate you, the highest compliment i compliment i think i could give.

Hello Eben,
This is some exciting news!
I was looking to create an information product for the spanish community.
I have a great idea for a English course that I want to develope. However, I have no clue on how to publish the information.
Here is what I would like to learn:
1)How to determine the best type of media to use i.e. books, dvd, audios.
2)Depending on the media how do find the tools to create the course i.e. if I was to choose a book course, where or how would it be the best way to create a manual, in my instance with images.
3)What would be the best way to market the product without having zero customers. " The market is definitely there!"

Hi Eban,
Over the past decade I developed a wonderful online solution for this very busy world ... there is a high need but not necessarily a high desire to purchase ... in essence the solution is a light-speed way to stay well organised and at the top of your game ... our testimonials are extraordinary ... the concept to purchase though is just not sexy ... the so-called organised people generally won't give it a go and the so-called disorganised people are defensive about their state and/or just won't get around to purchasing/giving it a go ... the main way we win our business is by having a cuppa with managers (team leaders) here in Perth Australia and it is them who knows their team needs it and they provide it to their team ... but we want to crank up our sales globally by selling it over the web.
So my main question is:
how do I make a solution sexy and a sales magnet when it is currently extremely needed and effective, but basically very unattractive? It is even unattractive for referral business because our users are raving to other people but they almost take it offensively that they should try this way of being organised.
Cheers, Mark.

My questions:
1. Tactics and Strategies for driving more traffic to the web site to access the teleseminars
2. How to track and convert more prospects into buyers. My original goal was 100 and $10,000 for this series (our product is selling for $97-117) and we are at 79 so it is close but I know we can do much better.
3. How to maximize my affiliate program to maximize my sales.
4. The best ways to outsource so I can continue to build my business and work on my business instead of creating just some products and a job. At present I use Scriptlance, Elance and VA’s
5. How to implement long term strategies for building a successful business that runs on systems and people so it can be sold as a real business for 2 to 3 maybe even 4 times net when I decide to quit in 5 to 7 years.
6. My next series will be all women and I am looking for successful world class women entrepreneurs. If you have some suggestions on who would fill this requirement I would be grateful. And if you could give me a warm introductions that would be fantastic. I know you don’t know me yet but I have followed your teachings for the last year and I am very impressed with your altitude program and your willingness to share with all of us. You can read a little about my wife and I at: http://strategicmarketingadvisors.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=98&Itemid=68
I have more but this will keep us busy for awhile.
I have 3 goals for your webinars
1. To win one of the scholarships
2. Have you as one of my guess speakers for our 3rd series which will kick off mid summer.
3. To increase my sales by 3 fold by the end of Jun 08
Thanks Eben for putting this together. It makes me proud to be a part of something that is wholesome and transparent. And I take comfort in knowing that people such as you are willing to give of your time and their talents to help others.
The internet can be very self serving with lots of hucksterism. Thank you for taking the lead to giving, sharing and working for the benefit of everyone.
To our success

How to organize myself for top performance.
I am targeting orthodontists, they don't go to the internet for marketing advice because none is available. How do you till virgin territory online?
How do you drive a group to the internet?

Hey Eben,
My current challenges at this time revolve around creating free content to help sell my client's product. I am basically scrapping my client's bootcamp newsletter series because it literally gave away the ebook in its entirety (just spread out over 7 days). I'm thinking teleseminar mp3, but I know that this would interest a lot of folks and could spawn a lot of good ideas.
So "coming up with valuable, content rich and free material to help sell a product" is an excellent topic. Ive been following you since the early days of DYD (from both a fan and curious marketer standpoint) and I am friends with some of your internet marketing contemporaries so needless to say I'm looking forward to the coming weeks. Have a good one.

We consult to small business (bricks and mortar) about business growth and freedom... we've had almost unbelievable results but the issue remains - what entrepreneurs want to learn about is very different from what actually works.
Here's the question - Do we sneak in the stuff that works while selling them on getting what they want? Do we educate them on what works even though every survey says otherwise?

I have been successful with the seminar side of the business, however the product side is a continuous struggle. I feel we are trying to throw to big of a net out to many potential clients instead of lasering in on a targeted market. I'd like to learn methods or steps on singling out one of the products and build up the sales on this one and than start an upsell program with the other books and DVD's. Realistic!

I would like to learn how to develop needed, useful and marketable information products that can be easily marketed over the web.

nice .
i need to get better at implementing. I'm just starting to implement based on my inspiration from what i've learned. It's getting exciting. What to do next is not just immitating what the gurus are doing, for me it's moving to the next step through learning how to reach clients.

Looking forward to the webinar Eben. I've heard a lot of great things about you!
1. How do I build my "herd" (a following) quickly and cost effectively. (yes I participate in SEO methodologies etc). My target market are senior service providers/owners (in-home care, adult day care, long-term care, elder law, assisted living, etc. So far this adventure has been fairly successful, but I could use a bigger mailing list.

Yes, May I suggest that you add a pause button on your screen display. That way those of us living in China can pause your presentation and listen to it in its entirety rather then the jerky stop and go for .....lets see about 45 minutes. I'm sure this would be worth your consideration as I believe your aware that you have an International audience.

Great video.
I have built a large blog and business around computers and technology. I would be interested in:
(1) How to discover the kinds of products my audience would most be interested in.
(2) How to position my products so that my customers buy them. Things like presentation, copywriting.
(3) How to get these products created quickly. You talk about "speed of implementation", but that is a little hard to do sometimes when I'm wearing most hats in my business at the same time.
Thanks.

I guess my #1 question is what makes a customer to perceive a given info-product offer as a really great value (i.e. in a staight way, so he would not change his mind on the next day), so as a result of his purchase the true net wealth of the world is increased.

I have no packaged product and may not for several months. My new business is contracting spiritual/scientific-mystical researchers to present their information at live events I promote here locally. Once I have my venue booked and then speakers booked my job is to promote the event in my local market (2.5 to 3 million population). I have no list at present and must start from scratch by advertising and using other marketers lists to drive traffic to my sales page, into my website (not yet designed for this purpose) and ultimately sell the live event.
Some presenters will have back end products to sell at the event but many do not (except for books). The events are dominately educational, not pitch fests to sell product.
The intent is to attract individuals who are honing in on living a purposeful life; to provide service to others; to align their actions with what they perceive will give them joyful/spiritually fulfilling returns that equal or supercede financial returns. The demographic is the cultural creative person.
This is the program that I am establishing. If it is in line with what you are teaching I'm interested.
Best,
Bob

Nicely done video! My #1 question is:
How can I create a compelling story for my market while using an alias? The product I'm working on at the moment will actually have a cartoon character for a mascot/spokes person...
